At the “All-Russian Lighting Conference” held in Moscow on April 15, 2021, ENERCOM gave a presentation on the topic “Innovative Radio Frequency Transparent Light Fixture as a Platform for City Digitalization”.
A delegation of the ENERCOM representatives attended the conference. Employees and managers of the company participated in many specialized sessions and discussions.

“Digitalization is transforming our cities and our lives everywhere,” stated Dmitry Streltsov, the General Director of PC Enercom LLC, in his presentation. “This is a global trend, and Russia is also moving in this direction.”
Most solutions for wireless data transmission presented on the market are light fixtures with a NEMA socket, control modules in expensive plastic housings, and external antennas. They have certain disadvantages, such as fragility, since plastic degrades under the influence of UV rays, temperature changes, precipitation, and they also clash with the visual aesthetics of the city. The SLR light fixture developed by ENERCOM is a digitalization solution devoid of these shortcomings.

In fact, the SLR light fixture is a dual-use product. The light fixture is designed to illuminate cities and highways, but its casing can also accommodate a wide variety of devices, such as an autonomous power supply, a control module, a lightning protection unit, a Wi-Fi access point, and other equipment that a customer would like to install.
According to the ENERCOM engineers, the fixture casing can house a wide range of electronic elements and modules. The casing is made of unique nanoceramics, which protects the light fixture from aggressive external environment and at the same time is transparent to radio signals. No additional coatings are required, and the stainless steel cantilever base will last for decades.
The rated service life of the light fixture is 100,000 hours, which is important for outdoor lighting. It also meets the requirements of the Avtodor state company in terms of vibration loads and has passed the M2 certification under GOST.
70% of the product net cost covers both the light fixture functions and other smart city tasks.

The use of dual-purpose light fixtures has great prospects in the field of Wi-Fi coverage and signal propagation, data collection and management of urban processes, claims the General Director of PC Enercom LLC.
Urban space digitalization projects using innovative radiofrequency transparent light fixtures are also ideal for concession agreements.
“Smart Cities and Roads” of Russia is our future, which we are already creating today.

    Let’s do that together!
